About us
We find company needs and research seeds of various categories of polymer matrix hybrid composite materials including FRP (fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite materials), and contribute to society. The research targets are from material to application technologies; raw materials, fabrication processes, joining and estimation/analysis/inspection. There are interfaces of different length scales in polymer matrix hybrid composite materials. The "examination" and "fabrication" research which made the key word of interfaces is performed. For the “examination” research, macroscopic deformation and failure behavior of polymer matrix hybrid composite materials is clarified theoretically using analysis technology, such as finite element method (FEM), etc. as well as behavior is investigated experimentally. Microscopic deformation and failure behavior at multi-scale interfaces of polymer matrix hybrid composite materials are also investigated. The microscopic interface behavior is also clarified theoretically. In addition, the interface behavior is examined by in-situ observation and modeling test. For the “fabrication” research, high-performance (high temperature, ultralight, etc.) and multi-functional (fail safe, pseudo-self-recovery, etc.) polymer matrix hybrid composite materials are developed and fabricated. Especially, a guideline of the “interface controlled manufacturing” is suggested.
