On May 8, 2024, NIMS received a certificate of appreciation from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for our contribution to the development of the H3 Launch Vehicle and the successful launch of Test Flight No. 2.
NIMS had evaluated the properties of structural materials, which were also used for rocket engines, and published such results as a Space Use Materials Strength Data Sheet. This data sheet had been used for evaluating the strength margin of engines and improving their designs, and was recognized as a significant contributor to the development of the H3 Launch Vehicle, Japan's new core rocket, and to the successful launch of the Test Flight No. 2.
